My father owned a little Italian restaurant in the 1960s and then several bars including "The Genoa Cafe" in Andover, MA. the town I still live in. I've had the idea for a scene like this for a while and started looking for inspiration and of course Manet's "A Bar at The Folies-Bergere" was the perfect composition. This is the Italian version with a few twists!
